VOLUNTARY and Community Groups in Bolton hope to improve their relations next month with the launch of a new scheme.
The Compact for Bolton is a partnership agreement between voluntary, community and statutory organisations.
The Compact aims to regulate and improve the ways in which groups can work together.
It will also offer improved links with Bolton Council.
Consultation
Codes of practice will be drawn up to offer guidance in areas where the groups interact. Areas include funding, consultation, volunteering and work with ethnic minority groups.
Local groups are invited to the Bolton Compact Consultation Event to be held at Bolton Town Hall on Friday April 6.
They will get the chance to consult with other groups on the scheme and discuss what should go into the codes of practice.
