DETECTIVES are probing a fire in a stockroom at Bolton's troubled Deane School.
Firefighters were called to the school in Junction Road after the smoke alarms were activated at 11.50am yesterday. The fire started in a stockroom and spread to adjoining classrooms within minutes.
Acting headteacher Victor Batarak said pupils were evacuated from the building -- as a safety measure -- but there was only minor smoke damage.
The school, which recently was placed under Special Measures after a damning Ofsted report, was open as usual today.
