AS the Junior season reached its climax, Bolton needed a win away at Barrow to finish fourth to gain the final play-off spot.

Bolton began poorly and found htting the target difficult from long range. The home side were quickly into their stride and converted fast break points with ease as Bolton spluttered defensively.

Captain Pete Hartley pushed hard, attempting to rally his side but Bolton were sluggish and suffered a 30 point half time deficit.

The second half proved to be much the same and the final play off spot looked ominous. The enthusiasm drained as Bolton's now lackadaisical approach took full hold of the team and the game ended with a disappointing 94-50 deficit and no play off berth.

Pete Hartley and Lindon Gillespie led scorers with 18 and 14 points repsectively. The senior team play host to league leaders Copley next Friday, who have already been defeated by Bolton this season and a win would put Bolton top of the table and in their current form promotion looks good at this stage.
