PAUL Fletcher, former chief executive of the Reebok Stadium, has been appointed Project Consultant to mastermind Luton Town's ambitious plans for a new £35 million all-seater stadium.
The former Wanderers' centre-forward made his name during six years at Huddersfield Town, where he oversaw the development of the Alfred McAlpine Stadium.
He then brought his expertise to Bolton in 1996 where he played a major role in the move to the Reebok and the running of the new stadium before being head-hunted to become Director of Commercial Affairs for the new English National Stadium in Januray 1999 - a post he left six months ago when the Wembley project became embroiled in controversy and political in-fighting.
He has been chosen by the Hatters for his unrivalled knowledge of new ground development.
Luton vice-chairman Eric Hood said: "Paul has a wealth of experience and will undoubtedly assist us in building a first class stadium."
Fletcher said today: "I am very excited by the challenge ahead and believe that Luton Town has a wonderful upportunity with a first class site to develop something the town of Luton can be really proud of."
