CHURCH services and community activities will soon be more accessible to disabled and elderly people in the Elton area of Bury.
St Stephen's community hall will have £3,000 worth of improvements over the next three years including a disabled toilet and improved access.
The Vicar, Rev Averyl Bradbrook said: "This generous grant from the Area Board has given the project the necessary impetus to turn our dream into a reality for 2001, as we can now make an immediate start on some of the changes."
Councillor Ray Watts, Chair of the Area Board's Grants Panel, added: "We would also welcome hearing ideas from other local organisations where a relatively small amount of money could make improvements or start off activities that would really benefit the community.
"If you have any proposals contact our Area Co-ordinator, Ian McHugh, at the Elton Centre on 0161-253-6845."
