THE trial of a former fire chief, who stands accused of rape, was adjourned today.
George David Heyes, 43, of Bamburgh Close, Radcliffe, faces two charges of rape and five of indecent assault, allegedly committed between 1996 and 1997.
It is claimed the former acting divisional fire officer, who worked for Greater Manchester Fire Service, committed the offences against women in Heywood, Wythenshawe, Moston and Harpurhey.
The complainants' ages ranged between 14 and 29.
Mr Heyes was based at Greater Manchester Fire Service's Swinton headquarters.
