SO now we know! During the Election Campaign of 1997 Frank Dobson toured Over Hulton in support of Ruth Kelly and gave his "cast iron guarantee that this sort of application in Over Hulton would NOT get the go-ahead under a Labour Government"
Well now it has -- another Labour promise broken!
Imagine the embarassment of Ruth Kelly as she attempts to keep the support of the voters of Bolton West!
Who will believe her when she campaigns on new promises made in Labour's Manifesto? Certainly not the electors of Hulton Park Ward.
I have lived within Over Hulton through the period of the first open cast mining, so I am aware of the problems which will develop if and when mining is started and I still live at Over Hulton,
The next few years will be a long reminder of this pro-mining decision.
