It's expensive to live in Britain they say,
But it's still the best place to be.
That's why immigrants flock to our shores,
Daily by land and by sea.
Packed in lorries they risk life and limb,
Hoping we'll welcome them in.
Then once they are settled with somewhere to live,
They hope they can welcome their kin.
But how long can we sustain them?
It's no wonder our taxes are high.
Our sympathy only won't keep them,
How long before funds will run dry?
But it's hard to deny them admission,
We're all members of one human race.
So although life here is expensive,
Let's be thankful that Britain's our base.
We have freedom to move, freedom to speak,
Without any worry or fear.
Education for all, a health service too,
We are lucky that we were born here.
