A GANG is being hunted by police after a drive-by street robbery yesterday.
The men pulled up in a red Toyota car alongside a 25-year-old man as he walked along Cook Street, Bury, at 5.50pm.
Two of the thugs got out of the car and grabbed the man by the throat. He was forced to hand over his mobile phone and a small amount of cash before the men returned to the vehicle and made off. The victim was not injured.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and have released descriptions of the men who carried out the robbery.
The first man is said to be Asian, 6ft tall, of large build, in his late 20s, with short black hair, long sideburns and a goatee beard. He spoke with a Manchester accent.
The second man is also Asian, in his 20s, 5ft 6 inches tall, and stocky with short black hair.
Bury CID are investigating the robbery.
