A FIREFIGHTER accused of making hoax phone calls was today due to attend a reconvened appeal hearing.
Malcolm Pye, a part-time sub-officer at Horwich, was given three months to quit the brigade after being found guilty of "corrupt or improper practice" at a brigade tribunal in August.
But the 41-year-old, of Pioneer Street, Horwich, is determined to clear his name.
The allegations against Mr Pye date back to 1998 concerning a bogus call about a grass fire in Sheep Lane.
It was claimed Mr Pye made the call so he and his crew could collect an extra £12.77 call-out money.
