LEE Clark praised Wanderers' resilience and criticised his own team's failure to press home their overwhelming advantage in yesterday's top of the table clash at Craven Cottage.

"To say we're disappointed would be an understatement," the Fulham midfielder admitted after Jean Tigana's Cottagers were denied the victory that would have taken them 15 points clear at the top of Division One.

"They (Bolton) probably had two shots - one on target, one off - and went away with a draw.

"I don't think there's been many games in the country where a team has been so much on top and not won.

"Their defenders have done their jobs from set pieces with something like five or six chances cleared off the line. Credit to them for doing their jobs correctly but we could have been more ruthless in front of goal.

"But look at the Bolton 11 ... they had about nine natural defenders in the line-up and they are second top, not just mid-table or fighting relegation. I thought Sam (Allardyce) was going to come on at one stage - and I'm glad he didn't!

"They couldn't stop us playing though, we just couldn't finish them off."

Clark fancies Blackburn and Birmingham to give Wanderers a real run for their money now in the race for the Premiership.

"Blackburn have an excellent squad and should be up there anyway," he said. "Birmingham are putting a terrific run together and showed they are a good First Divisionn side in the Worthington Cup Final and they bounced back from that defeat to win on Friday night.

"None of these teams are going to make it easy for us. Bolton are a good team but it would be fair to say that if you'd been a neutral at this game you wouldn't have realised it was first against second. We were far superior in the first half and that's not being unfair to Bolton."
