AS a long term season ticket holder at Bolton Wanderers football club I have attended the majority of matches at the Reebok Stadium and have unfortunately found the home support for the team to be fickle, and the attendances to be poor.
Huge efforts are being made to increase attendances at home games but for the loyal fans that do turn up week in week out, atmosphere is severely lacking.
Bolton is a large town with a good footballing history and a marvellous new stadium yet we fail to pull in a crowd of over twelve thousand at best.
Team performances have been mediocre of late but our league position warrants support. I am dismayed by both the lack of pride and interest displayed by Bolton inhabitants concerning their team.
For those supporters who prefer to watch from the sofa or check the results from the teletext, you cannot beat the passion of a large crowd and the response it produces from the players.
