BOLTON Museum staff were celebrating today after scooping a share of the £6.6m National Lottery jackpot.

The syndicate of 22 won £830,568, about £38,000 each, after sharing the jackpot with seven other winners.

Today, the Bolton winners, who range from security staff through to administration workers, were expected to receive their cheque from Camelot representatives.

A spokesman from the Museum, who was not one of the lucky winners, said: "A cross mixture of staff were part of the winning syndicate.

"But like me, not everyone took part, and there are a few downhearted faces. But, we don't feel too bad, because although a very nice amount to win, this is not a life altering sum.

"If they had won £380,000 each, I probably would have felt differently! "No one is planning to leave, and everyone who should be working, is. But I can say there are a lot of happy smiling faces around here.

"The syndicate has been going a little while. They had a little win last year, but this is the big one.

"And I am pleased to say that all members intend to put their £1 on for next week's draw."

However, Camelot refused to deny or confirm that the Museum staff had scooped the jackpot. A spokesman said: "There were eight separate winners, but of those only one has agreed to publicity and they are in Liverpool. We cannot confirm or deny any others."
