HAVE you seen the rubbish at the side of the road of St Peter's Way?
It's so disgusting I complained to the council and they said that around March 16 they intend to close St Peter's Way during the night to clean it. But why not keep on top of it and attend to the cleaning up of rubbish on a more regular basis?
What's prompted me to write to the BEN again is the sight of an old dirty double mattress that is at the side of St Peter's Way.
This has been there for a couple of weeks at least and I shudder to think what visitors must think about this as they enter the town?
Is it such a big deal to shift this offending thing?
Surely officials from the Town Hall or the Mayor would have noticed the mattress and one would have thought that they would have contacted the cleansing department to shift it! But no - does this not say something?
I think that I'm getting more depressed as to how this town is being run. Standards have slipped and I can't see things getting any better.
