BURY boss Andy Preece has only one message for his players at the moment: Get the ball to the strikers!

Preece is desperate to make the most of loan pairing Jon Newby, from Liverpool, and Crewe's Colin Camb because he believes they are capable of scoring goals every game.

"We've just got to get the ball to them as much as possible because they are both class strikers," said the Bury boss.

"If they get a chance in front of goal then nine times out of ten they are going to put the ball in the back of the net.

"Both of them are class players in front og goal and we need to make the most of that. They can't do it all on their own and it's up to the lads behind them to give them the ball as much as possible."

It's been a good week all round at Gigg Lane. Not only are the Shakers five matches unbeaten and climbing steadily up the table but talented youngsters Chris Armstrong and Nicky Hill have signed new contracts, with midfielder Jason Jarrett expected to put pen to paper imminently.

The only disappointment was Preece being pipped at the post by Millwall's Mark McGhee in the Division Two manager of the month stakes, though Nationwide bosses singled out the Bury boss for praise acknowledging that he was doing a tremendous job under testing financial circumstances.
