IT'S derby day in the Greater Manchester Schools' League next Saturday when Bury host Bolton at the Derby School, kick off 10.30 am.
The two teams normally fare well in the schools' county league but this year's match is a bottom of the table affair.
Bolton are without a point after successive defeats against Salford, Tameside, Trafford and Stockport and Bury are just one point better off.
They drew 2-2 against Stockport but came unstuck in matches against Salford, Tameside, Trafford and Manchester.
Bury team manager Mick Kay has had a tough baptism in his first year in charge of the school's representative team but he will be hoping for a good finish to the season.
The season is far from over for the Bury youngsters, who could still finish in a mid table position provided they win their outstanding league matches against Bolton, Wigan and Rochdale.
And some good performances in those last league matches should put the town team in confident mood for their annual trip to the Isle of Wight Festival of Football at Easter.
The annual soccer jambouree attracts around 30 associations from around the country giving teams games against associations they wouldn't normally play.
