A CYCLIST suffered a broken arm after he was knocked from his bike by a passing van.
Gordon Smith, 51, of Morrison Street, Bolton, was injured as he pedalled along Lever Edge Lane, near its junction with Higher Swan Lane, at 2.45pm yesterday. He was treated at the Royal Bolton Hospital and released later.
The van, believed to be a blue transit type vehicle, failed to stop following the accident.
Today traffic police urged the van driver to contact them, in the belief he may not have realised what happened as he overtook the cyclist.
