POLICE fear a serial "sneak-thief" has struck again. The thief snatched a handbag and credit cards after entering a house in Greenacres, Edgworth, through a back door last night, between 9.50pm and 10pm.
Police are linking it to a number of burglaries in the Turton and Edgworth area since January. In each case a man, claiming to be called "Ian from Bolton" was found in the homes of elderly residents.
Police are warning residents to make sure their doors are locked. They are also asked to report any suspicious vehicles or people in the area.
DS Ian Critchley said: "We are asking residents to be vigilant."
