SAM Allardyce took a swipe today at the Jamaican Football Federation for keeping him in the dark over Ricardo Gardner's injury.

The winger is extremely doubtful for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash at Fulham after going off with concussion just 16 minutes into the Reggae Boyz' World Cup qualifier with Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.

But it wasn't until he saw Gardner for himself late yesterday that the Reebok boss knew the extent of his injury.

"Nobody contacted us at all and that's a little disappointing to say the least," Allardyce grumbled today. "You'd have thought a call to the club would have been in order."

It is the second time in recent weeks that Allardyce has vented his displeasure at the authorities in Kingston, having objected to Gardner being forced to travel to the Caribbean for two friendlies in January, when he missed the Scunthorpe FA Cup tie.

Hearing that Gardner had been substituted at such an early stage of the Kingston game, which was a crucial first fixture in the Concacaf qualifying group, Wanderers were deeply concerned.

Already without suspended duo, John O'Kane and Kevin Nolan, for the Craven Cottage game, Allardyce admitted: "It doesn't look good for Ricky."

Wanderers will be boosted, however, by the return of Paul Warhurst and Ian Marshall, who passed fitness tests yesterday on hamstring injuries.
