AN Adlington teenager is on the crest of a wave after reaching the Disney heights.
For Gemma Plumb has just successfully auditioned for an eight-month dance contract on a Walt Disney cruise ship in the United States.
Gemma, aged 19, is just reaching the end of her three year professional dance and teachers of dance course at Preston College and is set to fly to the States on April 4.
She jets off first to Toronto to rehearse for two weeks and then on to Orlando to tour the Caribbean, arriving back in Britain on December 8.
"This is the first time I have ever been abroad on my own, so it is all quite scary," said Gemma.
"I got through to the last 17, but wasn't expecting the phone call to say I'd got the job.
"We were auditioning for everything for the experience, but I particularly wanted to go on a cruise because of the travelling, the chance to see the world. I'm very excited."
Gemma, a former pupil at Mount St Joseph's School, Farnworth, trained to dance at the Academy of Classical Dance and Stage in Bolton.
SHIP shape: Gemma Plumb who is heading for America and a Walt Disney cruise ship.
