I READ in the BEN (February 8) about Blackrod councillors turning down a mobile phone mast application on health grounds. It's about time someone showed a bit of common sense on this issue.
Further down Peter Ashby a Bolton council group planning officer says goverment guidelines advise local authorities to allow mobile phone masts unless they are a visual eyesore.
I wonder if it's anything to do with the government getting billions of pounds from the mobile phone companies for licences that they don't advise councils to turn them down on health grounds.
