THE Chorley forwards went on the offensive and the scene was set for the first 20 minutes.
Loose forward Faulkner re-launched an attack which saw Dodds go close for top-scoring tight head prop Richard Roberts to finish the job off and the sides changed ends with Chorley five points ahead.
The second half was more of the same, but Carnforth, to their credit, paid several visits to the Chorley 22 in the third quarter of the game and defended well to keep Chorley within reach. But they failed to score -- their attacks always succumbing to the Chorley defence or handling errors in the backs.
Jonathan Jackson sealed the victory for Chorley with five minutes left on the clock, the final score was Carnforth RUFC 0 Chorley RUFC 10.
Chorley travel to Stockport next Sunday to face Heaton Moor in the Lancashire Plate of the Lancashire North Division 2.
