KEN Bates has blamed everyone but the Queen Mother - and himself of course - for the problems with the new Wembley Stadium development.
The Chelsea chairman has stood down from his position as driving force behind the building, which was supposed to be the greatest stadium in the world, after a catalogue of calamities.
Costs have soared, deadlines for starting work haven't been met and businesses no longer want to be involved in what is seen as a dodgy investment.
None of this is his fault if you listen to Bates who prefers to use the scattergun technique of showering the blame on the representatives of the FA, the Government, Wembley National Stadium Ltd and whoever else enters his brain while talking.
He would have been happy to take the glory if the project had gone smoothly so he must take the responsibility when things go pear-shaped.
In the words of Anne Robinson - Ken Bates, you are the weakest link, goodbye.
