BOLTON Little Theatre's youth are staging a comeback . . .

And they are being led by a trio of former youth theatre members who returned to Bolton from university to find it gone.

Amy Liptrott, Sarah Warden and Nick Haworth were all involved in the BLT's youth theatre which ended seven years ago due to a lack of interest.

They returned to the town after completing their degrees at university. Sarah and Amy completed English and Nick, a drama degree.

Sarah said: " We have just moved back home and are becoming involved in the community again.

"There should be a youth group at Bolton Little Theatre and we decided it would be a good idea to get it up and running again.

"We want young people to get involved within the life of the theatre and hope to provide them with a good all round grounding of how a theatre works.

"We will work in tandem with the main theatre's season, see all its productions and hold discussions with crews and cast.

"Eventually we hope to work towards putting on a small production in June with an invited audience. First, we want to start the ball rolling."

Youngsters aged 13 to 17 years can put their names forward. No experience is necessary, and auditions are on Saturday morning in the Forge Theatre, within the BLT building on Hanover Street.

The youth theatre will meet each Tuesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and anyone interested in further information should contact Amy on 07779 295425.
