TWO love-struck couples will be the oldest swingers in town when they celebrate St Valentine's Day in a Bolton nightspot -- courtesy of the BEN.

Michael and Zonya Marsh, aged 71 and 66, and David and June Booth, aged 56 and 54, won our Valentine's competition to prove that age really is no barrier to love.

The lucky lovers will enjoy a romantic meal for two at Tiggis Restaurant, dance the night away in the VIP suite at the Atlantis Nightclub and spend the night at Middlebrook's Post House Hotel for free.

A chauffeur-driven limousine will take them to each stage of their date on Thursday.

Michael and Zonya, from Great Lever, said they entered the competition after the BEN urged old folk to stop moaning about youngsters and show them how to live.

Michael said: "We thought we would enter, just for a laugh and to prove that love is not just for youngsters.

"But I'm looking forward to it because it will be the first time we have been out for Valentine's Day in 40 years. Normally we wait for my wife's birthday a week later."

Zonya, a retired health visitor, is also the chairman of the Bolton Over-50s Association.

June and David Booth, from Farnworth, were also determined to show Atlantis's regular clientele how to party.

June said: "I couldn't believe it when I heard we had won.

"I had to dial 1471 to check it wasn't one of my friends playing a trick on me." Headlinep
