IF you pop down to Edgworth later this month, you could spot three-legged Tetley Tea Folk and naughty nurses running down the street.

The village is holding its 29th annual Three-Legged Fancy Dress Pub Race to raise funds for the Cancer Research Campaign.

People will be dressing up as anyone from Henry VIII to Cleopatra and racing around the pubs to collect money from regulars.

This year the route begins and ends at the Barlow Institute on Wellington Road.

In between, the couples must call in at the Rose and Crown, the White Horse, the Black Bull, the Chetham Arms, The Spread Eagle and then the Black Bull.

There will be prizes for the best fancy dress and the fastest and slowest competitors.

You can register from 11am on the day of the race on Thursday, December 28, at £6 per couple.

The race starts at 1pm with couples going off at five minute intervals.
