BARRY John Entwistle, aged 24, was given a ticking off by magistrates when he appeared on shoplifting charges.
Entwistle of Grank Street, Bury, had admitted the theft of five men's sport fleece tops worth £40 from Lidl in Heywood, but Bury magistrates heard he was in breach of probation for three offences of shoplifting, as well as being in breach of a conditional discharge.
Chairman Dr Alan Butterworth told him: "This might appear a simple case of shoplifting, but what makes it so much worse is that you have several previous offences of dishonesty, and you have failed to respond to court orders."
Magistrates dealt with all the charges and fined him £75 with £55 court costs to pay.
