THE Countryside Alliance is getting really desperate if they are having to get people living in Czechoslovakia (Your Views, Tuesday) to do their dirty work and support hunting.
As for following sheep, I am no member of any party and am opposed to hunting not because of a party political allegiance, but because of a love of animals and a deep hatred of animal cruelty. I respect pro-hunting views but feel sorry for them. Any person who can try to justify seeing an animal torn to shreds is very sad and must have a huge void in their lives.
Hunting is cruel and if any huntsman says otherwise I will challenge him to get chased by dogs and let his body be savaged and then tell me it is not barbaric. I am delighted with this government's stance on hunting and cannot wait to see this issue expose the Conservative Party and Liberal Democrats' pro hunting views in the Lords.
This issue is about democracy. Seventy-five per cent of British people want to see this practice banned. Eighteen years of Tory rule failed to do it. Thankfully, at last we have a government prepared to listen to what the public wants.
