HAYDOCK TV is to be produced by The Racing Channel and sponsored by The Tote from the New Year.

Haydock Park is one of only three racecourses in Britain to have its own internal television channel. Haydock TV -- which is two years old -- is the only one to be on air at more than 20 fixtures a year.

Shown on televisions around the course, the channel features interviews with racing personalities, jockeys, trainers and owners.

Commencing at Haydock's first meeting of 2001 on Saturday, January 6, there will be more on-screen betting information available, including the latest odds from the other major meetings. On Saturdays, there will also be regular updates on The Tote's popular Scoop 6 bet.

The Racing Channel's director of programming George Irvine said: "Haydock TV is a very exciting initiative and we are happy Haydock have chosen us to produce it for them."

The Tote's PR director Rob Hartnett: "The Tote is delighted to be supporting Haydock TV from 2001 and, from our own perspective, we hope that it will help to boost course-to-course betting as well as the Scoop 6 and Exacta bets."

In terms of course-to-course betting turnover, Haydock Park's racegoers are among the biggest punters in Britain.

After the last fixture of 2000 on Thursday, December 28, the first meeting of the New Year at Haydock is on Saturday, January 6. Weekend entry to the Newton Enclosure is £6, Tattersalls £12, County Enclosure £20, and £35 to the Premier Enclosure on the top floor of the Centenary Grandstand.
