QUANTUM 7 pulled off their first First Division victory against second placed Mavericks.

They were leading by six goals at half time after excellent shooting by Kerry Anderton. Mavericks' goalkeeper, Margaret Smith, defended well in the second half to hold Quantum to 11 goals, however, the half time deficit proved too great for Mavericks and the match finished 26-22.

Also in Division One, G.J. Ladies had a convincing win against Walkden 'A' with a 22-goal difference. Liz Hopes and S. Purcell were voted player of the match.

In Division Two, Chequers and Acdoco had a closely fought first half with only one goal separating them. In the second half, Chequers' centre, Vicky Mannion, intercepted several balls which were converted into goals. The final score was 16-12 to Chequers and Catherine Alexander was voted player of the match.

St Bonifaces could only field six players against Eagley Sports, but excellent centre court play by Francine Thorpe helped secure victory for St Bonifaces. C. Kay for Eagley Sports was player of the match.

In Division Three, Dreams And Drapes had a terrific win against Sharples with only six players. Chris Dutton (goal defence) held Sharples to 16 goals whilst D&D scored 21 to secure the five points.

Walkden had a convincing 20-10 victory against Design A Loft due largely to in-form goal attack L. Smith.

In Division Four, Royal Mail met Langford Roofing and trailed by four goals at half time thanks to J. Cribbin's consistent attacking court play for Langford Roofing. Royal Mail had an excellent all round second half and Langford scored only four more goals whilst Monica Marshall (goal attack) helped her team to score a further 12 goals for a final score of 19-15 to Royal Mail.

Bupa Babes had a convincing 28-7 victory against Hanson. Gemma Lee (goal shooter) and Elaine Sweeney (goal attack) were voted players of the match.

United 7, near the bottom of Division Five, met Pacific Peugeot who were several positions above them. Excellent defending by United 7's Gill Andrews (goal defence) held Pacific Peugeot to 12 goals and secured victory for United by five goals.

Royal Bank, with only six players, secured a five-goal victory against Tyldesley. Leannne Colman and Gill Redmond were both players of the match.
