STUDENTS in Bolton with mental health problems are sharing their experiences with people in Romania and Denmark, thanks to the Internet.

Adults working with Bolton Community Education Service (CES) are linking up with students in Timisoara in Romania and Aarhus in Denmark.

A net magazine called Mirrors of Life has been produced with contributions from all three countries.

And to celebrate the new links students and staff from the two European cities visited Bolton.

They took part in the Mirrors of Life conference at the CES Clarence Street Centre.

Students from all three countries joined in a series of workshops including computer graphics, art, experimental drama and life stories.

One of the students, Sten Rasmussen from Aarhus said: "I have had more positive experiences in the last four days here in Bolton than I have had in the past six months."

A calendar with artwork by students from the three countries was launched at the conference.

An evening of drama, poetry and music was presented by members of mental health drop-in centres in Bolton.

European funding has been secured for the project through the Socrates programme.

Future plans include a short course for the families of those who experience mental health problems.
