THERE will be only one collection of bins over Christmas and New Year for houses in Leigh which fall under Wigan council borough.
From Christmas Day until January 5, refuse collection teams will collect excess rubbish which should be placed alongside bins. Only rubbish placed inside bins will be removed outside this period.
If your normal collection day is Monday, it will be collected on Thursday, December 28. Tuesday collections will be made on Friday, December 29.
Excess
Regular Wednesday, Thursday and Friday collections will not take place during Christmas week but will recommence on Wednesday, January 3.
Normal collections will start on Monday, January 8, but excess rubbish will also be collected on Monday and Tuesday, January 8 and January 9.
Householders are reminded bins should be available for emptying from 7.30am on normal collection days.
