WITH reference to your article in the Bolton Evening News, 'Bogus home care workers prey on elderly' I would just like to mention that I run a domestic household cleaning business and I clean for the elderly people who need home carers.

To my knowledge, I have not seen one of them wearing an identification badge. Maybe they have them tucked away in their handbags, but rightly so.

When you see a person wearing a green uniform you expect them to be working for the social services and that they are trustworthy people.

Maybe these bogus workers are ex-employees of the social services and are out for revenge or, maybe, they still work for them and have gained inside information listening to the genuine carers at the meetings they have twice weekly. I hope the elderly people who were involved in these incidents have a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year and hopefully these bogus home carers will be caught.
