Rangers midfielder Giovanni van Bronckhorst insists that the criticism levelled at the club in recent weeks will not affect morale at Ibrox.

The Dutch international was forced to sit out the UEFA Cup defeat by Kaiserslautern last week with a groin injury.

But van Bronckhorst believes that the 2-0 win over Motherwell was proof that the players will not let their detractors get to them.

"Hopefully we might get a bit of a break from the people who seem intent on criticising us all the time," said van Bronckhorst.

"I'm aware of the sort of stick that's been directed at the club and the manager (Dick Advocaat) and I don't think it's fair at all.

"It's annoying to read all these things but I can tell you that it doesn't affect our morale.

"We're all part of a team and we win and lose together."

SOCCER: Dutch striker Erik Meijer could make his debut for German side SV Hamburg tomorrow after signing on a free transfer from Liverpool.

The 31-year-old plans to sign a two-and-a-half year contract for the Bundesliga club in time to make his debut away at Bayern Munich.

Meijer, who had been on loan at First Division Preston after failing to cement his place at Anfield this season, opened talks with Hamburg after they expressed an interest last week.

The player pulled out of the Preston side which beat Burnley 2-1 on Saturday and travelled to Germany the following day to conclude talks.

"The Bundesliga is not exactly new to me. Don't forget that I signed for Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen and I've already played for four years in the German league, so I know exactly what to expect," said Meijer.
