BOLTON veteran badminton ace Graham Holt was a double national title winner at the weekend.
Graham won the over 50s men's and mixed titles at the English National Veterans Championships in Bath. He partnered mid-Lancs' stalwart John Cocker in the men's and fellow Bury badminton club member Elizabeth Holt to win the mixed final.
Local players enjoyed a successful weekend at the prestigious tournament. Christ Church club member Neil Long won the over-40s men's singles title. And Bill Hamblett and Chris Vines, also from Christ Church, won the over-45s men's doubles' title.
Avril Sloane from the ABC club won the over-45s ladies doubles with partner Betty Bartlett.
Christ Church's Roger Taylor, a previous title holder, reached the semi-finals of the over-40s mixed doubles with partner Andi Stretch, and Markland Hill's Steve Powers reached the mixed semis in that age-group with Lancashire's Anne Hurst.
