MANCHESTER City boss Joe Royle has warned his players not to get carried away with Saturday's 5-0 win over Everton ahead of tonight's Worthington Cup clash against Ipswich at Maine Road.

Royle said: "After Saturday dressing room confidence is sky-high. But you must remember two years ago the Premiership and quarter-finals of the League Cup were a pipe-dream. But we are there now. Let's get stuck into Ipswich and show them what we can do."

"It was the nicest Saturday night I have had for a long time. We certainly needed that win but we are there now."

The East Anglians went home with three points last month after beating City 3-2 and Royle is keen for revenge.

He said: "We will certainly have to play a lot better than we did a couple of weeks ago if we are to beat them this time.

"Let's get stuck into Ipswich and show them what we can do."

Royle is forced to change Saturday's winning line-up with defenders Richard Dunne and Laurent Charvet cup-tied.

He also faces injury problems with striker Shaun Goater rated only 50/50 and Shaun Wright-Phillips also doubtful after they were injured against Everton.

Former Leeds star Danny Granville has been added to the squad and Spencer Prior returns after being dropped against Everton.

If Goater is ruled out, Paul Dickov, a scoring substitute against Everton, will start the game.

"It's frustrating when you are not playing," said Dickov.

"All I can do is work hard and hopefully get the rewards for that. Ipswich is a very big game for us, make no mistake.

"They were the best team we played last year. But confidence is high after our Everton victory. Ipswich beat us recently so we owe them one but they are no mugs after that show."
