FORMER Big Brother star Nichola Holt has been accused of being too big for her boots by the ex-chairman of the Embroiderers Guild.

Eileen Pepper said the shaven-headed celebrity had let the group down by pulling out of a lecture she was due to give in Bolton last night.

According to Mrs Pepper, Nichola was ready to go ahead with the talk when she heard the BBC was interested in the lecture.

But when she later discovered the talk was due to be broadcast on radio and not television, Mrs Pepper alleged Nichola decided to pull out, forcing the Guild to draft-in a last-minute replacement.

Mrs Pepper, chairman until September, said: "She agreed to do the talk before she had her five minutes of fame with Big Brother. We told the BBC they would have to approach Nichola. She then pulled out."

Mrs Pepper said the news that Nichola had pulled out was a blow but insisted insisted members were not upset.

Ideal

Nichola, aged 29, whose parents live in Turton Road, Bradshaw, was seen as an ideal guest because of her textile credentials.

She completed an art foundation course at Bolton Institute before studying art in Winchester. She had arranged to give a talk and demonstration on knitted textiles.

But that was before the former Canon Slade School pupil became a household name in the Big Brother series.

Mrs Pepper said: "We wanted her to talk about her textile work not because he has been on TV.

"Her fame has come and gone. It's died down and I don't think people will be all that interested."

Nichola's whereabouts last night were clouded in mystery. A quick call to her agent revealed she was due to be in Wales.

When the BEN double-checked with her agent's personal assistant, she said: "As far as I know, she will be at home in London." CHARLIE'S ANGELS Meet the girls in Friday's BEN
