All too often they can be forgotten about by owners but they can become just as scared as any other animal.

Ideally you should move them to a quieter environment -- maybe a shed, conservatory, back porch or even a garage as long as it's fume free and well ventilated.

If you decide to bring them inside for Bonfire night, make sure you turn down the central heating as they will have begun to grow their winter coats and a sudden change in temperature could make them uncomfortable or even ill.

If you're unable to get your pets to an alternative home you could place a thick polythene flap or tarpaulin over the front of the hutch, ensuring there is an adequate air supply.

This will protect your pets' eyes from sudden bright lights and prevent sparks from entering the hutch.

Always check your pets at the end of the evening to make sure they are well, a comforting stroke wouldn't go amiss!
