WHAT arrogance for Michael Williams to suggest Catholics put pressure on the Pope, in order to make the Pope think in the way Michael Williams thinks! (BEN, Oct 23).

I would remind the Vicar of Bolton that good Catholics don't ring the Pope up to disagree with him -- they OBEY him, and, if necessary, BLINDLY obey him.

I put a question to Michael Williams -- If all the theological experts in the Catholic Church said one thing, and the Pope stood alone, and said something else (e.g. on birth control), who would Michael Williams say it was best to follow?

I suppose the Vicar of Bolton would say 'himself'!

The answer, of course, is -- the Pope.

How do I know? Quite simple -- through Faith.

This Faith brings a peace that the world can't understand; peace only Christ Himself can give.
