FULL-of-beans Bolton clubbers are being offered the chance to dance beyond dawn before tucking into a full English breakfast.

Bar Juice has won a public entertainment licence to open until 8am on Saturday mornings to bring an Ibiza-style experience to the town centre.

Members of the council's licensing committee approved the licence extension for the Mawdsley Street nightspot.

The venue is already allowed to open till the same time on Sunday mornings.

Owner Paul Roberts said the change would allow the bar to attract top DJs for monthly events similar to those already held there on Saturday nights.

The Temple in St George's Road, already opens until 6am and Mr Roberts believes all-night events are a growing trend. Nine other clubs are allowed to open until 3am.

Mr Roberts said: "It's something that quite a few of the clubs in Manchester do and it's good news for town clubbers.

"People who've been to another club can come after it's closed and go right through. We get a lot of people who want to do that.

"They are going to Ibiza and most of the clubs are open till 8am. Some of them don't even open until the small hours.

"It also means we can operate a wrist-band system where people can leave the club and go for a curry or whatever before being allowed back in."

Events are likely to last only until 6am but the 8am licence will give the club extra flexibility, Mr Roberts added. Full English breakfasts will be served to clubbers who last the pace.

Councillors heard on Tuesday that no objections to the Saturday morning extension had been received from police or public.

Principal trading standards officer Andrew Fisher, whose department deals with licensing matters, said on the evidence of the Sunday morning sessions there had been no grounds for concern. Curry
