OF the present 10 league titles up for grabs, it's eight down, two to go.

The latest teams deservedly enjoying celebratory drinks in the clubhouse are Mike Lawler's Swinton Un Athletic (Mon 1st) and Simon Riley's Viva Goon Troop (Tue 1st).

However, one particular squad of nine have put a couple of bottles of champagne on ice as they near completion of a remarkable achievement.

Jason Tyldesley, manager of four teams (Britannia, Red or Dead and MUFC x2) set himself and his team a feat not even Manchester United have yet achieved -- the quadruple!

In what's been an all-round record-breaking season for Manor Fives, this squad of nine are just one victory away from realising their dream.

To date, this season they have played an astonishing 55 games, losing just four as they prepare for this Tuesday's massive game against Howard Tonge's Fuller Vale, from which a victory will well and truly confirm -- mission accomplished -- four separate league titles!

Such an achievement would no doubt have the Olympic committee demanding stringent tests to be carried out but rest assured, this huge task is based upon a well organised and determined team who just love their football as well as possessing a strong 'will to win' attitude.

The team: Lee Ashworth (capt), Martin Mangnall, Jason Tyldesley, Andy Gudojc, Jimmy Russell, Lee Dodd, Gary Wells, Dave Burke and young Ben Tyldesley.
