Saturday evening, from 7pm, in the parish hall there's a buffer supper costing £5, at 8pm there's a slide show called "Bolton Past" by Dick West in the Upper Parish Hall. At Smithills Hall you can take along unusual and interesting objects for identification on Sunday September 17, 2pm to 4pm and at Hall i'th Wood there is access to all areas with tours of the attic space which is normally out-of-bounds to the public. Here you can explore where Samuel Crompton hid his famous spinning mule from 18th century machine wreckers who saw the new machines as a threat to their spinning and hand weaving skills.
