THE LOWRY, Salford Quays. Families will find plenty of things on offer for children this summer. Families with children (aged five to 11) are encouraged to explore the Soft World exhibition by literally moving around the fabric works of art. The cost is £2 per child and there is no cost for adults accompanying children. Every Saturday morning, 11am to 1pm, The Lowry's Playhouse offers a creative adventure of fun-filled family activities for children aged five to 11. These sessions are led by professional artists who explore art, drama, music or dance. Children must be accompanied by an adult and the cost is £2 per child but no cost for adults. Places are limited so book in advance. During gallery opening hours (Monday to Wednesday, 11am to 5pm, Thursday to Saturday 11am to 8pm) visitors can enjoy the family corner where children under five can draw, read and play. This free facility features an activity table, books, shape, shake and make boxes and children must be accompanied by an adult.
