DEAN Holdsworth saved Wanderers blushes with an 85th minute match-winner after Macclesfield had threatened to spring a surprise at the Reebok.
The record signing, in for his first game after picking up a shoulder injury on the pre-season tour of America, broke the stalemate with a clinical header from Gareth Farrelly's cross.
Macclesfield, meeting Wanderers for the first time in a competitive match, proved a tough nut to crack in this first leg.
