BOLTON Big Brother contestant Nichola Holt has been warned by her family not to come back to Bolton.

Speaking on television this morning, Nichola revealed father Frank had told her to stay away until "the dust has settled." Nichola was seen by millions of viewers being booted out of the Channel Four documentary on Friday.

Yesterday she was the subject of Sunday newspaper stories which made lurid accusations about her sex life.

Nichola, 29, from Bradshaw, said her parents were devastated at claims she had taken part in a three-in-a-bed romp.

The textile artist said: "All I want to say about that was that a percentage of it is right but it's not actually true.

"My parents aren't very happy about it. My dad's asked me not to return home. He's very upset.

"My mum was on such a high on Friday and reading that yesterday has taken all the happiness away. It's not very nice to read those things about your daughter in a newspaper."

Nichola, appearing on GMTV this morning, also reacted to comments by the Bishop of Liverpool, James Jones, condemning Big Brother as a "human zoo".

She said: "Sometimes we felt like we were caged animals. Especially when you were in the bedroom and you could hear the cameramen moving behind the mirrors."

Nichola's mother was dismayed when another Sunday tabloid claimed her daughter had gone on a naked rampage in a London hotel just hours after being voted off the show.

Joyce Holt had been unaware of the sex and nudity claims and her only reaction was a weary: "Oh wonderful."

Mrs Holt refused to comment further on either incident but revealed her daughter telephoned the family on Sunday morning to tell them she was fine.

She said: "At first I thought she had a chance of winning but when I started to watch the show I changed my mind.

"She speaks her mind and in that sense she's not two-faced or a back-stabber and presented her true self.

"It's been an experience for her. I was worried when she said she was going into the house but I think she came out well."

The Zippo Academy of Circus Arts has offered Nichola the chance to join them at the end of September for six weeks -- something, according to Mrs Holt, she is likely to take up.

Mrs Holt, of Turton Road, travelled to the Channel Four studio close to the Big Brother house in the Docklands area of London to meet Nichola as she left the show and spent five minutes with her.

Nichola has been involved in controversy since the start of the show.

Within hours of entering the house, she stripped off for a naked "clay-painting" session and sparked an angry reaction from Bolton women after saying they all wore stilettoes and shell suits.

Mrs Holt said: "It was a stupid thing to say but it's been blown up out of all proportion.

"It was a joke. There was no malice intended. Nichola loves Bolton and has loads of friends here."
