A BOLTON woman had a narrow escape after waking up to find her bed on fire.
The horrified 40-year-old threw her burning covers off and fled her home on Curzon Road before ringing the fire brigade from a neighbour's house.
The blaze, believed to be caused by a cigarette, damaged the front bedroom and heavily smoke-logged the house.
The woman was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation but was later discharged.
Fire crews arrived at the home at 11pm last night and spent two hours fighting the fire and damping down.
