Under 13s A & T 68-9, Adlington 6 -5

ADLINGTON batted first scoring very slowly to reach a modest total of 68, thanks mainly to D Walmsley with 25 runs. A & T's reply was equally slow but with every batter scoring a few runs they managed to achieve a tie with one run off the last ball.

Clifton 172-2, Blackrod 34

Clifton won by 138 runs. Clifton's batters took to the field first and were soon in command. D Garner, N Williams, G Jennings, W Dorsey and D Greenhalgh all scored 20 or more runs before retiring or being not out. Helping the team to a huge total of 172 runs this was always too much for Blackrod's batters who were all out for 34 , 23 from Glen Hughes. Best bowlers for Clifton were Mark Morrisroe, two wickets and one run and Craig Orwin, two wickets for 13 runs.

Elton 88-1 Standish 87-5

Elton won by 9 wickets. A steady 20 runs from J Kohler helped Standish to their modest total. Elton made hard work of their task and only reached their total on next to the last ball. Best batters being Jamie Stone 25 ret and Mark Hamnett 27 ret.

Cup Semi-Finals

Edgworth 70-6 Clifton 71-1

Clifton won by nine wickets. Edgworth batted first and reached a modest total of 70 against some tight bowling from the Clifton attack led by Mark Morrisoe with two wickets for eight runs and Darren Stewart with two wickets for ten runs. Best batters for Edgworth were Tom Liversedge with 26 ret and D Chambers 19 runs. Clifton then batted and with Neil Williams 25 ret and James Walsh 28 ret soon reached their total of 71 runs for the loss of only one wicket.

D Lever 83-4, A & T 82-4

Darcy Lever won by six wickets. A & T batted first with Marsh 15, Roussak 17 and Harrison 18 not out helping them to a reasonable total of 82. M Nawaz 2 wickets for 9 and C Gent 2 wickets for 18 were Darcy Lever's best bowlers. Solid innings from M Dearden 25 ret and J Hill 28 ret steered Darcy Lever to victory with A & Ts Roussak having bowling figures of 3 overs, 1 maiden, 2 wickets for 9 runs.

The final between Clifton and Darcy Lever is at Clifton on Sunday August 6.
