TONGE hope their Hamer Cup victory over rivals Westhoughton will kick-start their league title aspirations.
The winners of the Bolton League for the last four years have been struggling of late but a five wicket win to reach the semi-final will boost their confidence,
Westhoughton were restricted to 138-8 with Mahboob the mainstay of the innings with 55. They started well but the innings fell away with Iqbal Sikander grabbing 6-64.
In reply Tonge were never in trouble thanks to a quickfire 35 from David Celep and an unbeaten 48 from Simon Anderton. Mahboob took 3-29.
