CLAUS Jensen looks set to be on his way to the Premiership in a £4 million transfer.

The Wanderers' midfield ace, wanted by both Ipswich and Charlton, flew home early from the club's Denmark tour yesterday to start the talks that will decide where his future lies.

Wanderers are understood to have accepted bids from the two newly-promoted clubs and it is now appears to be down to whether Jensen wishes to make his Premier League mark in Suffolk or London.

Officials at the Reebok, who last week confirmed having received a bid from Ipswich, have been tight-lipped over developments but it looked odds-on this morning that a move was in the offing with the smart money on Ipswich.

Town boss George Burley made it clear that he hoped to have a new signing to unveil in the next 48 hours.

Of the Jensen deal he said: "Nothing has changed. We have made a substantial bid for Jensen and now we must just see what happens.

"We are still in communication with Bolton.

"I haven't given up hope of having a new signing before we go on tour on Thursday."

Tabloid speculation suggests that Sam Allardyce is aiming to plug the gap left by Jensen's imminent move by offering Per Frandsen a return ticket to the Reebok less than a year after his £2.25 million transfer to Blackburn Rovers.

But the Wanderers boss has already hinted that the new financial constraints he is operating under could rule out any attempt to re-sign the former Denmark international.
