WITH regard to the letter from K Francis printed in the BEN.

I had no idea that Tony Blair had a new spin doctor living in Bolton. It was an excellent doctrinated letter from a clone.

I see that the extra monies collected from the extortionate fuel prices is to pay for a "new ring-fence fund for roads and public transport", whatever that is.

This being the case, that petrol prices are now paying for roads, do we no longer have to pay the Road Fund Licence which, as we know, was originally introduced to pay for repairs to existing roads and for new roads to be built?

If that is not the case, then motorists are paying twice (fuel and Road Tax) for the privilege of driving on our excellent road system which is customised for the motoring public.

I would like to ask K Francis: Where do the monies collected from the Road Fund Licence go, if not on the public roads as was originally intended? Please be original, don't use the hackneyed excuses. I ask him this, as he seems to be very informed on Government policies.
